Movie Trailer: Frozen (2013)

I suppose every new animated feature has to have a comic relief side-kick that follows in the footsteps of Scrat of “Ice Age” fame. In Walt Disney Studio’s Frozen that sidekick appears to be a snowman named Olaf. His purpose is unclear (other than to make the kids laugh) but from the synopsis of the film — which is loosely based on the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale “The Snow Queen” — he’ll encounter Anna (voiced by Kristen Bell), Kristoff (voiced by Jonathan Groff) and his reindeer Sven as they seek to save Anna’s sister Elsa (voiced by Idina Menzel) and the kingdom. The teaser trailer doesn’t offer any insights into the plot, it’s just a cute exchange between the magical snowman and the dog-like Sven. Watch with the kids and enjoy if that’s your thing!

Frozen employs the voice talents of Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, Idina Menzel, Jonathan Groff, Tom Kane and Santino Fontana.

Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf (voice of Josh Gad), Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

I’ll refrain from the obvious remarks of bewilderment as I’m sure there is really a fun rocking adventure underneath.
