Movie Trailer #2: Justice League (2017)

With Justice League, DC’s answer to The Avengers is finally here. Whether it’s too late to dethrone Marvel is up for debate, but the liveliness of this second trailer (first “official,” however) is at least a step in the right direction. There is still no definitive plot to spoil as of yet, but along with the expected resurrection of Superman (recall he “died” in “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice,” the rumor is the villain introduced will be Darkseid (Steppenwolf, Darkseid’s uncle is a main named antagonist). What his plans are for Earth at this point is unknown, just expect some bombastic fighting between the Justice Leaguers and their alien foes and some in-team hits as the team forms and learns to play along with one another. Check out the latest action in the trailer courtesy of Warner Bros.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Jason Momoa, Henry Cavill, Connie Nielsen, Ezra Miller, Amber Heard, Willem Dafoe, J.K. Simmons, Ciarán Hinds and Jeremy Irons.

Official Synopsis:
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes — Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash — it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

This looks so fuckin hokey. Zack Snyder has the whole DCU so fuckd up. They need a new direction now before it is too late to salvage.

    Flash: What are your superpowers?
    Batman: I’m rich.

Just supplied the best part of the trailer. You can go on with your day now.

Thought I was going to hate it, but am pleasantly excited now. Aquaman is looking like a major player especially with Superman out of the lineup. Really like the banter coming out of Flash. Cyborg has an Iron Man vibe especially when he took flight. I like the idea of Wonder Woman leading Justice League into battle. Overall 9/10

I really hope they get this right. DC is rapidly running out of chances.

Can there be any less light in this thing? Darker tone doesn’t mean the movie has to be literally dark…

No improvement from the Comic-Con trailer. Maybe a little worse actually. I’m just going to write off the DC stuff and stick with Marvel.

    Con:
    Cyborg looks ridiculous.
Gal Gadot has a big head.
    Zack Snyder directing again.
    Pro:
Edgier Aquaman is better than poster-boy Aquaman.

Couldn’t think of any other positives for this yet. Could be a bad omen.

The newest trailer for Justice League looks even worse. This film is going to tank so hard.
