Movie Trailer: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

The Empire isn’t quite dead, although it’s taken thirty years for them to regroup to make a new power play against the Republic. In the hotly anticipated trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens those moves are, sadly, not spoiled. It’s more an amalgamation of what to expect — a new Sith Lord, stormtroopers geared for battle, X-Wing fighters in flight formation and the Millennium Falcon showing off some wicked evasive maneuvers. It’s a great tease, especially for those who have been yearning to know the fates of Luke, Leia, Han and Chewie (no confirmation on Darth Vader yet), and for those wishing to clear the bad taste left from the three prequel films. Check the action out in the embedded trailer above and enjoy the nostalgic rush halfway through when the Star Wars theme kicks in.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, Warwick Davis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.

Just hearing the music, the TIE-fighters and the electric static of the lightsabers would have been enough for me. I would have loved if it could have ended with Darth Vader’s breathing though (even if he isn’t in the movie.)

Bet it’ll all be CGI and no story.

We’ll be fine. He did right by Star Trek fans so he understands what needs to be done and how to do it.

Rumor is the force that awakens is the most badass Jedi turned Sith Lord ever, Darth Revan.

Darth Revan isn’t official canon. Darth Plagueis is and he is a strong possibility.

Strange start to it but it picks up a head of steam quickly. The Millennium roll was an excellent exclamation point!

As long as Jedi die, it will be a good movie…

Sweeeeeet. Been waiting for a new Star Wars film that looked and felt like a Star Wars film.

I realize this is a big ticket title but what is it that everyone is gushing over? Other than a few shots of spaceships and a cloaked guy with a light-saber this trailer is a lot of nothingness.
