Movie Trailer #2: The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 (2014)

It’s the beginning of the end and all bets are off in this first full trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1. It seems the masterminds behind the rebellion are willing to chew up and spit out their figurehead, Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), to guarantee the uprising; President Snow (Donald Sutherland) of the Capital is content to heavy handedly crush his opponents while parading Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) in disturbing propaganda pieces. There is a definite change in tone and action from the previous installments — much darker, desperate and mature — but it’s too early to tell whether it’ll come across as powerfully as it needs to or, even worse, as filler material until the true ending comes in Mockingjay – Part 2. Decide for yourself by watching the embedded trailer courtesy of Lionsgate.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Stanley Tucci and Donald Sutherland.

Before all the fanboys and girls get giddy at what they’re seeing, remember this is the worst book of the trilogy broken into two 2-hour movies….
