A new take on the legendary Musketeers is nearing. Announcing its pending arrival is another theatrical trailer for Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers. Shot entirely in 3D, the film boasts massively choreographed sword and gun fights as well as battles with bomb-laden blimps! All this in support of a story that has the three swordsmen — Athos, Porthos and Aramis — take on a fourth member as they race to stop the Duke of Buckingham, M’lady De Winter and Cardinal Richelieu from conquering the continent. The movie looks to be well over-the-top (as are most Anderson flicks), so I’m not entirely sure how excited I am to see it. Orlando Bloom does sport an awesome pompadour though . . .
The Three Musketeers stars Orlando Bloom, Christoph Waltz, Matthew MacFadyen, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Milla Jovovich and Logan Lerman.
The Three Musketeers dashes into UK theaters on October 12, 2011 and US theaters on October 21, 2011.
