With one hero franchise ending (“The Dark Knight Rises” is Batman’s farewell), it’s the perfect time to tease on the rebirth of another superhero icon — Warner Bros. has released two teaser trailers their upcoming film Man of Steel. Both trailers are essentially the same just the voiceovers are different (Russel Crowe who plays Jor-El does one, Kevin Costner who plays Jonathan Kent does the other). Neither of them provide details to the plot (which is said to have everything to do with favorite nemesis General Zod), instead they build up the anticipation — readying audiences for the rebirth of their childhood hero. I believe that was the way to go, because even after I swore off Superman after the last reboot attempt (“Superman Returns“) I am excited to check out this Zack Snyder re-imaging. See for yourself by watching the trailers now.
Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni.
Man of Steel saves US and UK theaters on June 14, 2013.

I got goose pimples when he does the “Superman stance” as a kid with the cape on.

So they’re following the Batman mold – darker, grittier and set more in the real world…..

I wrote Superman off after that Brandon Routh unintentional horror. This could be a good comeback for the man of steel.

I like how they added the sonic booms during his flight. It’s attention to detail like that that’ll put this movie over the top.

No surprise with the success Christopher Nolan has had with the Batman that he’s involved with rebooting Superman.

That is the proper way to make a teaser…

I don’t understand the purpose of these trailers? The movie isn’t due for a full year – is this really supposed to get us talking about it for that length of time?

Superman deserves a movie that does him justice. Everything to date has only scratched his surface ….
