You’d think they could have at least come up with better name for it. I’m talking about Sony Pictures Animation’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 for which the first trailer has been made available for viewing. In similar fashion to “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs,” the sequel pits inventor, Flint Lockwood (Bill Hader), versus his food making machine. This time, however, the previously thought to be dismantled machine has evolved and is now producing man-eating animals made of food products. Can Flint and his friends stop the food creatures from reaching civilization before it is too late? I’ll go out on a limb and say yes, but check out the fun trailer anyway for a taste of the adventure to come later this year anyway!
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 stars the returning voice talents of Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Will Forte, Neil Patrick Harris, Terry Crews and Andy Samberg.
Official Synopsis:
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 picks up where Sony Pictures Animation’s 2009 hit comedy left off. Inventor Flint Lockwood’s genius is finally being recognized as he’s invited by his idol Chester V to join The Live Corp Company, where the best and brightest inventors in the world create technologies for the betterment of mankind. Chester’s right-hand-gal — and one of his greatest inventions — is Barb, a highly evolved orangutan with a human brain. It’s always been Flint’s dream to be recognized as a great inventor, but everything changes when he discovers that his most infamous machine (which turns water into food) is still operating and is now creating food-animal hybrids — “foodimals!” With the fate of humanity in his hands, Chester sends Flint and his friends on a dangerously delicious mission — to battle hungry tacodiles, shrimpanzees, hippotatomuses, cheespiders and other food creatures to save the world again!
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 feasts on US theaters on September 27, 2013 and UK theaters on October 25, 2013.

Thinking I’ll like this as I really enjoyed the first movie.

Yes, the name leaves something to be desired and if they can’t be bothered to dream up a more fitting title I can’t be bothered watching it. Kidding, I won’t be watching it because it looks stupid.

I don’t think the first movie was good enough to warrant a sequel///

At least it doesn’t seem to be a direct rehash of the original. Could be good; need to see more before final determination.

Thanks anyway but I’ll pass on a second helping of Meatballs.
