Movie Trailer #2: Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015)

Still no giveaway as to the plot of it, but this second trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens still manages to build upon the first. For one, if my ears hear correctly, Luke’s narration makes it sound as if he may have a child with a powerful connection to the Force and that his father, Anakin Skywalker, may somehow be still alive. Secondly, it shows a few more shots of the new empire and the mystery Sith who is apparently leading them. Lastly, it’s good to see Chewbacca and his sarcastic partner in crime, Han Solo (Harrison Ford), reveal themselves for the first time. Check them and the latest action out in the embedded trailer courtesy of Walt Disney Pictures and Lucasfilm. Maybe in the next tease we’ll get to see Luke, Leia and Lando Calrissian!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens stars Andy Serkis, Oscar Isaac, Warwick Davis, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill.

As excited as I am for this, I’m also equally frightened to see how badly time has aged our heroes.

I don’t expect Carrie Fisher to do any bikini scenes.

J.J. Abrams, the savior of the two most beloved sci-fi franchises ever – Star Trek and Star Wars.

Here I am just cruising along my barren wasteland of a planet and holy hell look at the size of that crashed Star Destroyer! And is that an X-Wing fighter too? Now that’s a great way to set up all the iconic imagery that follows…

Perfect trailer. It didn’t ruin the story by giving away anything important, hinted at (or redherringed) some major reveals and with the Chewie/Han cameo it delivered nostalgia.

Word on the street is the power contained in Sith artifacts will lead to the Empire re-rising. A fragmented Skywalker family and Vader’s mask will be the key to their success..

Who are we kidding? Disney could have dropped a 2 minute trailer with only the title card and we would still be jumping for joy.

The ghosts of Jedi’s past materialize to fight the growing Sith threat! Think about it, it’s the best way to bring back old characters like Yoda, Anakin, Obi-Wan and Luke while introducing new ones.

Contain yourselves people. Never forget the unbridled enthusiasm followed by the disappointment of Phantom Menace.

Disneyland will be in flames if The Force Awakens is anything like the prequels!

I felt a great disturbance in the Force … as if millions of voices suddenly orgasmed in unison.

Brought back the same feelings I has when I was a kid watching Star Wars for the first time.

As hyped this is, it won’t touch the worldwide ticket sales of Furious 7. Vin Deisel will have on his resume that his stupid action movie made over one billion dollars and was bigger than Star Wars 7, Jurassic World and Avengers 2.

I think you underestimate the strength of the Star Wars brand. This movie has the potential to break every box office record.

The Han Solo-Chewbacca reveal didn’t work for me. Looked unnecessarily tacked on at the end.
