Since the teaser, which was released in June, didn’t delve much into the story of Brave (choosing to instead focus on artistry and mystery), Disney-Pixar has finally released a full theatrical trailer which presents more of the story arc for their latest animated adventure. Denied allowance into the trials of the first borns because she is a girl, Princess Merida instead chooses to find her own way and ultimately rebels against age old traditions. In doing so, however, she unleashes a curse on the lands, which she must rise up to and confront. The graphics, as with all Pixar productions, are meticulously done (especially Merida’s fiery red locks), but the added treat is the sublime humor sprinkled throughout. On the downside, I can already see my kids trying to speak to me with an indecipherable Scottish accent . . .
