If the title of X-Men: Days of Future Past didn’t confuse you, maybe the story line of the hotly anticipated movie will. Today, the war between mutants and humans is in full effect and the only way to change the current situation is to undo what was done. To that end, Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is sent back in time to reunite the young, faithless Professor X (James McAvoy) with the radicalized Magneto (Michael Fassbender). It is expected this unified front will be able to counteract the army of Sentinels (robot creations of Trask Industries) that are responsible for the slow and deliberate extermination of mutantkind. The trailer sets the Bryan Singer directed story in motion but aims for a more emotional response than a “hold onto the seat of your pants” actiony one. Audiences can certainly expect that though as more teases make their way online. Until then, enjoy the first trailer courtesy of 20th Century Fox.
X-Men: Days of Future Past stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Evan Peters, Ellen Page, Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Nicholas Hoult.

A Sentinel materializing at the end of the trailer would have been the cherry on top…

So they’re introducing time travel to the universe now? Seems like a cheap way to connect the timelines.

There’s a lot being stuffed into this – I’ll start crossing my fingers now in hopes that Singer can direct this away from being a mess.

No Sentinels? I was really looking forward to seeing them do their anti-mutant stuff.

Lots of mutants die in this timeline in the comics; I wonder how many they’ll let die in the movie.

Prof X died at the end of ‘Last Stand’ so can someone explain to me how is he alive in this?
October 29, 2013 @ 10:12 pm Bunion
Easy, he didn’t die.

If mutants are being killed and imprisoned in this why aren’t they trying to blend in? They’re all wearing some type of uniform–how hard a task is it to locate people wearing a uniform that shouts, “I’m a mutant!”?

They’re being called to duty, not arbitrarily walking the streets like that.
