The Rhino. The Green Goblin. Electro. They’re all on display in Marvel Studio’s latest superhero movie, The Amazing Spider-Man 2. They all, for one reason or another, also want to see Spider-Man destroyed. Aside from them (even though they play a huge part in the movie), focus is paid to the blossoming relationship between Peter and Gwen, and sinister ties are established between the disappearance of Peter’s father and the military conglomerate, Oscorp. All this and more (no matter how many times I see it, webslinging through New York always bring a smile to my face) can be seen in the attached trailer. Check it out now!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Denis Leary, Sally Field, Chris Cooper and Dane DeHaan.
Official Synopsis:
It’s great to be Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield). For Peter Parker, there’s no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen (Emma Stone). But being Spider-Man comes at a price: Only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro (Jamie Foxx), Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, Peter comes to realize that all of his enemies have one thing in common: Oscorp.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 webslings into US theaters on May 2, 2014 and UK theaters on April 18, 2014.

The Electro villain looks so out of place. Like he is an actual comicbook villain pulled from the pages and planted in the real world.

Whole thing has a very cartoony feel to it. It’s definitely not where I thought the franchise was going to go considering Spider-man was always one of the more “real” heroes….

Halfway through did you notice the wings for The Vulture and the arms for Doc Ock in the tanks in the Oscorp basement? Spider-Man 3 is going to have some awesome bad guys in it!

The makings of the Sinister Syndicate perhaps?

Dane DeHaan is weirdly creepy. He’s going to make a great Goblin. I’m not so impressed with Rhino though. What’s up with the poorly welded metal suit?

If I recall correctly from the comiics, the Rhino’s skin is fused with a super strong polymer to give him his incredible strength and toughness. I don’t think Paul Giamatti has the body type for a skintight suit. Covering him up in metal is a good choice.

They’ve made him into an emo fag.

Spidey!

Definitely looking better than I thought it would even if Rhino looks a bit daft.

I’m with you – I can watch an entire movie of his webslinging from building to building. It looks like so much fun!

This looks, amazing. (pun intended)

Spectacular even.

With 3 villains and a blossoming love, I’m betting the story is going to kick ass but I ain’t feeling the CGI. Looks kinda dated like it belongs in a movie from the last century.

I haven’t seen any mention of Mary Jane Watson yet. Gwen Stacy is supposedly going to meet her end at the hands of the Green Goblin so I was expecting there to be at least a tease of an appearance from her.

Shailene Woodley was cast as MJ. She’ll make her appearnce in Spiderman 3.

Including three villains worries me.

The Rhino looks terrible. I’m waiting for Kraven the Hunter and Scorpion to get their introductions. The fights they’ve had against Spiderman were always the best.

They mucked Venom up in Spider-Man 3 so I’d like to see him get another shot. Carnage would be cool to see as well.

I can already see Jamie Foxx ruining the movie.

Looks better than The Amazing Spider-Man but I’m not so sure it can surpass Spider-Man2 which I consider to be one of the best sequels ever.

They could pit Spiderman against his own irritable bowel syndrom and I’d happily watch it.

I hate to be the one to say it but it looks like every other super-hero movie made.
