Movie Trailer: Dredd (2012)

I’m no fan of the abundance of remakes, reboots or re-imaginings plaguing Hollywood these days. That is until word that “Judge Dredd” was finally getting the makeover it deserved with Dredd. For those not familiar with the setup or character, nuclear war has laid waste to the world and Dredd is an elite police officer in Mega City One (one of several massive cities in the USA) that has the immediate power of judge, jury and executioner. In this take, a drug is plaguing the city and Dredd, with psychic rookie Cassandra Anderson, must infiltrate a dangerous city-block and take down a ruthless drug kingpin named Ma-Ma. It won’t be so easy as the setup, as seen in the linked trailer, is akin to that in “The Raid: Redemption.”

Dredd stars Karl Urban, Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Santi Scinelli, Deobia Oparei, Langley Kirkwood, Rakie Ayola.
