The second trailer for Warner Bros. Man of Steel is a harrowing ordeal. It starts with Clark Kent being a lost soul — he has the internal drive to want to help but his adoptive father, Jonathan Kent, thinks otherwise. This conflict tears Clark apart during his formative years but it’s the perfect setup for his “birth” to the superhero we all know as the second half of the trailer culminates with his doing battle against fellow Kryptonians in explosive fashion. This “humanization” of Superman (previously worked wonders with Batman) should hit a chord with fans, both casual and die-hard. Everyone, however, will definitely enjoy what looks to be an epic action/adventure movie which is sure to give “Iron Man 3” a challenge for “comic geek” supremacy. Check the trailer out!

Man of Steel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Russell Crowe, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne and Christopher Meloni.
Man of Steel saves US and UK theaters on June 14, 2013.

This has got me excited and I don’t even like Superman!

You don’t have to be a fan of Superman to be excited about it. What is presented before you is a movie that purports to have a lot of heart to go along with the expected bigger than life action sets.

Batman who? Dark Knight what?

It’s not even out yet and it’s the highest grossing film of 2013. Everyone has already decided to see it at least twice!

What do I think? I think I’m ready!

I can’t see how with Zack Snyder at the helm and with creative input from Christopher Nolan that this won’t dwarf every superhero movie made. It’s a friggin’ superhero supernova!

Epic is the only word that can describe this. The film is a must watch.

Perfect trailer to make one forget that Christopher Reeve and Brandon Routh both stained the red and blue suit.

Intense.

I’m going to reserve my unbridled enthusiasm for now. Too many times an excellent trailer is followed up by a garbage of a movie.

I don’t think you’ll have to worry about this stinking.

First Batman, now Superman. Looks like DC is bringing the good fight to Marvel.

Agreed – and if done right Justice League could eclipse Avengers………

I understand attaching Nolan’s name to the project raised interest and additional capital but I can’t help but wish he wasn’t involved. I see Batman Begins.

I love Zod and asking Michael Shannon to tackle the role is an interesting choice. But, yes there is a but, Zod’s been done to death. I’d have preferred Darkseid, Brainiac or Bizarro getting a shot at Kal-El.

For the sequel I vote for Bizarro. We should start a write-in campaign now.

Looks absolutely incredible but I’m not so sure it’ll wipe the floor with Iron Man 3.
