A new trailer for the grittier and bloodier reboot of Conan the Barbarian has been released by Lionsgate today. It appears to be a closer depiction to what Robert E. Howard wrote, but it still seems to be missing what I want from my Conan movie — the indiscriminate bedding of scantily-clad women, the drinking of ale until the wee hours of the night and the merciless hacking of enemies. That’s not to say the finished product won’t have all or some of that en masse, but this trailer doesn’t give off that impression. Still might be worth a look though, especially if you are one of many who weren’t fans of the Arnold Schwarzenegger version of the Cimmerian barbarian.
Conan the Barbarian stars Jason Momoa, Ron Perlman, Rose McGowan, Rachel Nichols, Stephen Lang and Saïd Taghmaoui.
Conan the Barbarian slashes into US theaters August 19, 2011 and UK theaters August 24, 2011.

I don’t know, this remake just seems……bad….
