Combining elements of “The Terminator” and “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” comes Terminator: Genisys, a reboot of the cult-favorite franchise. In it, which the trailer alludes to, the timeline has been altered — future fighter, Kyle (now played by Jai Courtney) is still sent back in time to save Sarah Connor (now played by Emilia Clarke), but she is no longer in need of saving. A T-800 (again played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) has apparently raised her and is now serving that purpose against the shapeshifting T-1000 and possibly another T-800 (a CGI version of young Schwarzenegger). There is sure to be a future part to the film as well as John Connor (now played by Jason Clarke) is rallying the human resistance to stand and fight against the machine offensive. It’s got some good looking action sets, although personally I’m not convinced the series was in need of a reboot. Check it out above in the embedded trailer.
Terminator: Genisys stars Emilia Clarke, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jai Courtney, Jason Clarke, Byung-hun Lee, J.K. Simmons and Matt Smith.
Terminator: Genisys comes online in US theaters on July 1, 2015 and UK theaters on July 3, 2015.

This looks awful.

Actually it looks worse than awful.
1) Arnold is too old to play the role.
2) Jai Courtney is a cardboard hero.
3) Catch phrase usage is pathetic.
4) Flipping bus is Michael Bay cliché.

They’ve eliminated everyone from the original but Schwarzenegger? It’s time they eliminated him too..

It’s time they left the classic action flicks alone. First they ruin Robocop and now my beloved Terminator.

Destined to be a summer flop.

Beginning: shot for shot remake.
Middle: alternate timeline with Arnold v Arnold.
Ending: Sarah Connor lives, humans still fucked.

Cyborgs with a singular purpose to kill can never be bad even if the movie they’re in looks like it could be bad.

Another reboot/remake/retelling/resomething that will only serve to stain the good name of the original.

It’s not a good sign when the nostalgia of fans is exploited so obviously…
