The war continues between ape and man in War for the Planet of the Apes. As you may recall “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” saw the apes escape containment, “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” had a tenuous agreement break between apes and a human encampment due to an overzealous ape, and now with this installment comes a larger military response by humans led by the Colonel (Woody Harrelson) even though it seems a truce and even co-existence is in place between species. What will transpire, will be more of the same explosive action and styling thanks to the impressive handiwork of Weta Digital — the differences, picked from this trailer courtesy of 20th Century Fox, are the apes appear to be much more advanced than before and allegiances will be blurred between the warring sides. Check it out.
War for the Planet of the Apes stars Woody Harrelson, Judy Greer, Andy Serkis, Steve Zahn, Sara Canning, Ty Olsson, Terry Notary and Chad Rook.

Are they going to have a new movie for each bloody fight between them? They’re dragging it on like a Twilight/Hunger Games Part 1 & 2.

I’m anxious to see how the writers will get around the obviousness that mildly trained humans with advanced military equipment will easily beat mildly intelligent apes with spears.

Remember, the simian flu killed off the majority of humans. Those left aren’t exactly the cream of the crop of the gene pool. Apes on the other hand have flourished in numbers, brute strength and intelligence. Now military grade weapons are a guarantee of nothing.

I really like where this franchise is going. It’s so much smarter than the superhero flicks we’re seeing and looks just as good. Keep ’em coming, I say.

I’m hopeful from the trailer that War for the Planet of the Apes stays the course of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes because that was a great movie.
