You might recall Mike and Sulley from a nondescript movie some years ago, “Monsters, Inc.” Mike was a round green guy with one eye, Sulley was the big hairy blue guy and they were best of friends. They weren’t always the best of friends, though. In Disney/Pixar’s Monsters University, they’re actually rivals. Both of them are majoring in Scaring and neither wants the other to perform better. They’ll go through great lengths (giving viewers lots to laugh at) to make sure of it. The frightastic, full trailer, hints at some of those antics and I for one, can’t wait to see more. Check it out!
Monsters University stars the voices of Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Steve Buscemi, Julia Sweeney, Dave Foley, Joel Murray, Jeff Pidgeon and Peter Sohn.
Monsters University educates US theaters on June 21, 2013 and UK theaters on July 12, 2013.

Wish they left well enough alone. :(

What took so long? Monsters Inc. is an awesome flick that’s been screaming for a sequel.

The movie screaming for a sequel is “The Incredibles.”

Doing a prequel like this (university setting, etc) seems like a copout. I would have preferred a bonafide sequel – what came of Mike, Sulley and Boo?

I agree with this sentiment. Going the “Animal House” route screams lack of imagination. Only time will tell I suppose.

Looks like they’re going for slapstick comedy rather than comedy with a heart. Its the latter which made Monsters, Inc. so endearing to so many.

Slapstick comedy can have a heart too and I’m sure Pixar will slip a sincere lesson or two into the hijinks.
