It’s taken 30 years for the ghosts in Manhattan to regroup enough to be a concern so large that some had to call for the Ghostbusters again. Venkman, Spengler and Stantz have long since retired (although I’m sure they’ll make a surprise visit) so in this updated Ghostbusters, four women have accepted the call to arms. A quantum physics professor, Dr. Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), a paranormal author, Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), a nuclear engineer, Jillian Holtzmann (Kate McKinnon), and a subway worker, Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) aim to find out who is amplifying the paranormal activity in the city making it possible for ghosts to inhabit humans. There are minor laughs in this first trailer, which just sets out to introduce the characters, so don’t get too excited just yet. Nonetheless, getting slimed still looks as fun to have happen to you as it did 30 years ago. Check out the tease in the embedded trailer courtesy of Sony Pictures Entertainment.
Ghostbusters stars Kristen Wiig, Chris Hemsworth, Melissa McCarthy, Elizabeth Perkins, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Andy Garcia, Matt Walsh.

It’s bad enough they’re rebooting another beloved movie from my childhood but why feminize the thing too? I just don’t understand this need to equalize everything. Yes a woman can basically do everything a man can do but instead of forcibly trying to redo something like Ghostbusters find an original idea to prove it to the world. This is going to tank and do the exact opposite of what it intended…

I hope they somehow cameo in the original Ghostbusters. Having them team up with the ladies to save the city would be a great way to pay homage to the original and it’d be the only way I’d be convinced to see it.

At least Kate McKinnon showed up to have a good time. She’s setting herself up to be the next SNL star to break out.

My take away from this highly questionable venture is the future of funny female actors rests on the shoulders of Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Wiig.

Well this just confirmed my worst fears.

With all the hoopla surrounding the movie they certainly didn’t help themselves with this trailer. I know it has to be funnier than this so my hope is they’ll get it right with the second trailer

it could not get more pathetic even if they tried.

This is so fucking stupid. Sony and every liberal, feminist, sjw need to eat a bag of dicks. Shit like this is the result of pandering to these assholes.
