The climax of “Divergent” that saw the young divergent Tris (Shailene Woodley) escape with her life after a face-off with the manipulative leader of the Erudites (Kate Winslet) may have been anti-climatic but that won’t keep a good YA series from marching on. Realizing there is more to her story in this post-apocalyptic Chicago, in Insurgent, Tris bands with the factionless (and her romantic interest and fellow divergent played by Theo James) to get bring down the power elite. What she doesn’t realize is she may the key to giving even more power to the controlling Erudite faction. The trailer checks off most of what to expect from a movie like this — another showdown (which offers more pyrotechnics), familial and friend re-connections and of course burgeoning love. Summit Entertainment invites you to see the drama unfold for yourself above.
Insurgent stars Shailene Woodley, Miles Teller, Jai Courtney, Ansel Elgort, Naomi Watts, Kate Winslet, Theo James, Zoë Kravitz, Maggie Q and Ray Stevenson.

It has to be better than Divergent. Literally anything could be construed as an improvement over that snoozer.

the books are lame so it’s also got to be better than the source from which it sprang

My problem with these titles is they all end up at the same place. An oppressed society revolts against and ultimately overthrows a ruling government-faction-overlord in the ‘cleanest’ way imagined. If you’ve seen Hunger Games, you’ve seen Divergent and Maze Runner and Giver and

That’s just the way she looks. Uncomfortable, like she is trying too hard to poop.
