He ain’t no penguin from “Madagascar,” but Surly sure has a few tricks up his sleeves (assuming, of course, he had sleeves to put something up). In Open Road Films’ The Nut Job, he’s a squirrel looking to pull off the heist of the century — robbing Maury’s Nut Store of all their almonds, pistachios, walnuts, cashews and peanut brittle. To help he’s assembled a mish-mosh of cute city critters (even the rat is cute in a Pinky of “Pinky and the Brain” sort of way). Kids are sure to get a kick out of the hijinks as one thing after another goes wrong for the schemers. Check out the trailer and try and figure out which of the criminal band is voiced by Liam Neeson.
The Nut Job employs the voice talents of Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl, Liam Neeson, Brendan Fraser, Maya Rudolph, Jeff Dunham, Stephen Lang and Sarah Gadon.
Official Synopsis:

Yay, farting groundhogs. They’ve reached deep into the comedy well for that one.

The rat looks more like Remy from Ratatouille than Pinky….

Will Arnett is an interesting voice choice for the squirrel. He sounds kind of asshole-ish, I’m not so sure that is the way they want him portrayed to kids.
