Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have teamed up again (finally) for Focus Features’ The World’s End. The double entendre title represents not only the end of mankind but is also the name of the bar at the end of a pub crawl, friends — Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan — were never able to finish as youths. Older and supposedly wiser, the five decide to return home and finish what they started, only things aren’t quite the way they remember them. With atypical British humor (meaning its actually funny for viewers in the states) the men must do battle with the aliens that have infiltrated their boyhood town while staying the course and finishing their drinking binge. The trailer below should make you wish Simon Pegg and Nick Frost team up more often. See for yourself!
The World’s End stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan.
Official Synopsis:
20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.
The World’s End saves mankind in US theaters on August 23, 2013 and UK theaters on July 19, 2013.

I’m sure it’ll be good for a few laughs. Pegg’s movies always are.
