Movie Trailer: Warcraft (2016)

I can see the allure for some — those that have amassed countless hours playing and lost relationships because of — with the upcoming video game adaptation, Warcraft, but for me it is too reminiscent of “The Hobbit” trilogy. That is, it has readily defined races that are traditionally enemies (in this case humans and orcs), and there is simply too much blatantly obvious CGI eating up the screen. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t have entertainment value, however. On the contrary, if the film lives up to anything like this latest trailer, courtesy of Legendary Pictures, shows there won’t be much time to catch one’s breath between all the hacking and slashing and crushing and war cries and magic. Take a look at the latest (and greatest?) the fantasy genre has to offer now.

Warcraft stars Ben Foster, Paula Patton, Travis Fimmel, Robert Kazinsky, Dominic Cooper, Toby Kebbell, Clancy Brown, Daniel Wu, Callan Mulvey and Callum Keith Rennie.

With so much CG why not just make the entire movie without live actors? The human characters are just as basic as the orc ones so I doubt anyone would care..

I’ll check it out even though I’m more of a Diablo fan myself…

I don’t know the first thing about the Warcraft story but I’m a sucker for fantasy stuff with Orcs and Elves and Goblins and Wizards and Dragons and it looks like they’ve got a good mix of them all (or something similar). Effects could be a little crisper though.

Rumor has it that Uwe Boll asked to direct this and was rebuffed with Blizzard telling him, “We will not sell the movie rights, not to you… especially not to you.”

My ticket is bought just for that badassery.
