Movie Trailer: The Muppets (2011)

I didn’t think it could happen, but fond childhood memories washed over me after watching the teaser trailer for The Muppets! Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Animal and others are back for another adventure which is sure to be comically interesting (Jason Segel and Nicholas Stoller wrote the screenplay). Word is the puppet-marionette creations of Jim Henson have reunited to stop a greedy oilman from leveling the Muppet Theater and exploiting the oil discovered underneath. You won’t get that information from the trailer though — Disney, in a slick marketing move, instead intertwined The Muppets with Green With Envy, a fake movie, and put forth what resembles a romantic musical. Like I said, this should be one hell of a show . . .

The Muppets stars Jason Segel, Amy Adams, Chris Cooper, Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Zach Galifianakis, Neil Patrick Harris, Danny Trejo and practically every other actor, actress or singer in existence.

 

 

The Muppets waltzes into US theaters on November 23, 2011 and UK theaters on February 10, 2012.
